1. About us

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to any quote, order, or installation service provided by Drive EV Installations (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“the Customer”). By accepting a quote or booking an installation with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

  • “Installation” means the supply and fitting of an EV (electric vehicle) charge point at the Customer’s property.
  • “Site Survey” means our assessment of the property to confirm the installation is feasible and to identify any additional work required.
  • “Working Day” means Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays.

3. Quotes and site surveys

3.1 Quotes are based on the information you provide to us and, where carried out, our Site Survey. Prices may change if the Site Survey reveals additional work is required (e.g. longer cable runs, consumer unit upgrades, or groundworks) that wasn’t apparent when the quote was given.

3.2 Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless stated otherwise.

3.3 We’ll confirm any change in price with you before carrying out any additional work, and will not proceed without your agreement.

4. Booking and acceptance

4.1 A contract between us is formed when you accept a quote in writing (including by email) and, where applicable, pay any required deposit.

4.2 A deposit of 25% may be required to confirm your installation date. The remaining balance is due immediately on completion.

4.3 We aim to carry out installations within 7 working days of booking, though this may vary depending on demand, DNO approval timescales (see Section 6), or circumstances outside our control.

5. Your right to cancel

5.1 If you are a consumer booking our services from your home (e.g. online, by phone, or via a home visit) rather than at our business premises, you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, within 14 days of placing your order, without giving a reason.

5.2 To cancel, contact us at hello@driveevinstallations.co.uk stating your order details and that you wish to cancel.

5.3 If you ask us to begin work within the 14-day cancellation period, you may still cancel, but you’ll be charged for any work carried out and materials ordered up to the point of cancellation.

5.4 Once installation work has been completed within the cancellation period at your request, you lose the right to cancel.

6. Third-party approvals (DNO and grants)

6.1 Some installations require notification to, or approval from, your local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) before work can proceed. We’ll handle this notification on your behalf, but timescales are outside our control and may delay your installation date.

6.2 Where you are applying for a government grant or scheme (e.g. via OZEV) towards the cost of installation, eligibility is determined by the scheme provider, not us. We’ll support the application process where we can, but we cannot guarantee approval.

7. Access and site conditions

7.1 You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property, including any relevant permissions (e.g. landlord consent for rented properties, freeholder/management company consent for leasehold properties) before the installation date.

7.2 If access is not available on the agreed date, or necessary permissions haven’t been obtained, we may need to rearrange the installation and a rebooking fee may apply.

7.3 We are not responsible for pre-existing faults in your property’s electrical installation, but we will notify you if we identify anything that needs addressing before we can safely proceed.

8. Warranty and guarantee

8.1 All installation work is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of completion, covering defects in our workmanship.

8.2 EV charger units themselves are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, typically 3 years — details will be provided with your unit.

8.3 This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, or issues unrelated to our installation work.

8.4 All notifiable electrical work is certified in line with UK Building Regulations (Part P) and relevant wiring regulations (BS 7671).

9. Liability

9.1 We carry public liability insurance for the work we carry out. We have £5,000,000 cover.

9.2 We are liable for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

9.3 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Data protection

We handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, available on our website.

11. Complaints

If you’re not satisfied with our service, please contact us at hello@driveevinstallations.co.uk so we can put things right.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
